Air cooler classification and advantages of composite air cooler

The air cooler is a device that uses ambient air as the cooling medium to cool or condense the high-temperature process liquid in the tube by sweeping the outside of the finned tube, referred to as “air cooler”, also known as “air-cooled heat exchanger”, “air-cooled type” (Water to air) heat exchanger”.

If the final temperature of any cooling medium differs from the local ambient temperature by more than 15℃, an air cooler can be used. Air is inexhaustible and ubiquitous. Air is used to replace the traditional production water as a coolant, which not only solves the problem of water resources. It is in short supply, and the pollution of water resources has been eliminated. Air coolers have now been widely used in chemical, petrochemical and other fields. In particular, the successful development of various forms of finned tubes has greatly improved the heat transfer efficiency of air coolers and gradually reduced their volume.

Air coolers can be divided into the following different forms due to their different structures, installation forms, cooling and ventilation methods.

a. According to different tube bundle layout and installation forms, it is divided into horizontal air cooler and inclined top air cooler. The former is suitable for cooling, and the latter is suitable for various condensation cooling.

b. According to different cooling methods, it is divided into dry air cooler and wet air cooler. The former is cooled by the continuous blower; the latter is by means of water spray or atomization to enhance heat exchange. The latter has a higher cooling efficiency than the former, but it is not used

much because it is easy to cause corrosion of the tube bundle and affect the life of the air cooler.

c. According to the different ventilation methods, it is divided into forced ventilation (that is, air supply) air cooler and induced ventilation air cooler. The former fan is installed in the lower part of the tube bundle and uses an axial fan to send air to the tube bundle; the latter fan is installed in the upper part of the tube bundle, and the air flows from top to bottom. The latter consumes more power and costs more than the former, and its application is not as common as the former.

The composite high-efficiency air cooler is a new type of cold exchange equipment that integrates the latent heat and sensible heat exchange mechanisms, and optimizes the combination of evaporative cooling (condensation) and wet air cooling. Compared with air coolers, composite high-efficiency air coolers are not only safe Reliable, water-saving, energy-saving, environmentally friendly performance and it is more economical in the early investment and use process.
